Why did the bison cross the road???

WTOP reported today that a bison was holding up traffic on Route 7 at Yellow Schoolhouse Road yesterday evening (Round Hill). Apparently, he/she escaped from a nearby bison farm, and ventured out onto the road. Another bison was nearby on the shoulder. I'm always watchful for deer and such, now bison too? :)

2 Local Starbucks Closing

Starbucks Corporation has announced that the locations at 43300 Southern Walk Plaza (near the Harris Teeter close to Broadlands) and 22025 Dulles Retail Plaza (in the same shopping center as Wegman's off Waxpool) will be closing soon.

Ledo Pizza Opening in Ashburn

A personal favorite, Ledo Pizza, is opening in Ashburn very soon! I drove by the new Bloom off Belmont Ridge Road (at the intersection of Portsmouth and Belmont Ridge). I noticed the Ledo Pizza sign and then referneced their website. Through careful calculation and journalistic sense, I deduced that Ledo's Pizza is indeed coming to Ashburn, Virginia. Now if someone can give us the real details - i.e. when they're going to open - this information might be useful for me :)

Small Businesses Looking For Space In Loudoun

As a small business owner, I've experienced the frustration associated with trying to find space in Loudoun County. The process yields absolute dependency on realtors or independent sources like Craigslist, and does not yield much in the way of general information. For a small business, this can be a challenge. The folks in Fairfax County have an exceptional system in place, where the county provides centralized information about real estate listings. I wish I knew about this site before, but stumbled across it while doing some surfing today. The Loudoun County Government website has a Small Office Space listing service located at http://biz.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=255.

For any small business owner, this is a great resource :) as are the exceptional realtors in the area.

Ashmill Building is home to Shenandoah University

Leesburg Today reports about the new Shenandoah University location at the Ashmill Building. You'll see the building, now with the Shenandoah University signage, from Route 7 westbound between Ashburn Village Blvd and Claiborne Parkway.

Update on Morley Corner

The Morley Corner tract on Ashburn Village Blvd (just south of Ashburn Farm Road) has been sold to Temple Baptist Church, who plans on building a church and grade school.
